Pathfinders unit is finally complete! A paint scheme change midway through my first model and the constant battle with painting white caused me to take longer than expected. Was also not sure as to whether or not I was going to do camo on them. It really depended on how well I could pull it off. Thankfully, I was satisfied with the result.
Ooh, and better camera means better pics!
Okay, now on to some vehicles...
Those pathfinders look pretty sweet. Did you do a gloss varnish over the jewels and optics? If not it can really help in making them pop.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I did the usual layering and "white dot highlight" for the gems, sans varnish. I'm gonna try that out though. Thank you for the recommendation and thanks for looking!
ReplyDeleteLooking good, what's your technique for the snow?
ReplyDeleteThanks. I do snow by mixing Woodland Scenics snow, white glue, water, and a bit of white paint. I get it to a pasty consistency and then just slather it on the base. Finally, I sprinkle some of the hobby snow on top.
ReplyDeleteI hope you dont mind if i "borrow" this paint scheme? its wonderful! i really like the camo cloaks. Hi im 0z btw
ReplyDeleteHello, Oz! By all means use (and improve!) the scheme. They do say that imitation is the finest form of flattery...and i have "flattered" many a hobbyist myself :P
